Sheila (Shay) Docking (née Lawson) (1928 - 1998) was an Australian landscape artist born in Warrnambool, Victoria. She was known for her paintings inspired by the western district of Victoria and the landscape of Ku-ring-gai Chase and Sydney Harbour. She studied at Swinburne Technical College (1947 - 1952) and the National Gallery School, Melbourne (1954 - 1955). In 1952 Shay married Gil Docking, education officer at the National Gallery of Victoria, Docking's work has been exhibited in galleries across Australia, including the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. She passed away in 1998, and a major retrospective exhibition of her work titled "Song of Earth and Sea: Shay Docking 1955-1996" was held in her honor in 2011.
